Damn have you heard Lavida Loca and Miss La Familia’s, “No Snack”?! What a dope track not to mention the lyrics spat, with serious flow, clarity and an air of confidence that’s undeniable. That’s why “No Snack” takes the track of the week. It’s also refreshing to see two women on the British rap scene and coming with greatness at that too. I’ve also got to give a shout out to the producer for this one, personally I think this goes so hard but still whilst keeping a chilled vibe. There’s nothing like a little new.
If you haven’t heard of either of these two amazing female artists’, then I’m sure you will and you’ll only hear more too. So Lavida Loca the South London based rapper, born in Malawi and raised in Nottingham came back last year (2019) and made her mark on the scene with “The King’s Back” released in June and since then had released another 4 tracks including “No Snack”. Now Miss La Familia has also made a surge in mid 2019 and early this year (2020) making many an appearance on both Link Up TV and GRM Daily with tracks such as “Letting Dem Know” and “Big Smoke”. I can’t wait to see what these two have in store for us in the future.
Lavida Loca and Miss La Familia are dope but that’s not to take any credit from all the other artists featured on this week’s playlist. Some other favourites from this week include “Ei8ht Mile” for Aitch’s verse, the way he comes in on the beat “Yo, I don’t really fuck with the trap like that. But the income coming in fast”. As soon as I heard that along with the beat I was got! Roddy Ricch also makes a second consecutive appearance this time on Mustard’s track “Ballin’”. I love the vibe on this it’s such a chilled one and the flow is flawless.
